Gail Gaskin Hannah is a visionary nonprofit leader, strategist, and community advocate with more than 35 years of executive leadership experience advancing behavioral health, housing, reentry, and youth development initiatives. As the Founder and Executive Director of Sisters Giving Back (SGB), Gail leads an organization dedicated to empowering girls and young women through leadership development, education, and long-term support systems that improve life outcomes.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gail’s commitment to service was shaped by her parents, who instilled in her the importance of education, discipline, and giving back. These values inspired her to create Sisters Giving Back to ensure girls who reflect her own journey have access to opportunity, exposure, and a pathway to success.

Since its founding in 2011, Sisters Giving Back has supported hundreds of girls through its annual Girls Conference, scholarship program (established in 2013), and consistent community-driven fundraising efforts. Under Gail’s leadership, the organization is expanding beyond single-day events into a continuum of care model that includes a six-month leadership and life-skills institute, summer programming, and long-term support that follows participants through college and into early career development.

Gail recently retired as Executive Director of the Eastern Region for a leading nonprofit organization, where she oversaw operations across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, DC. In this role, she managed complex service systems, led program expansion, ensured regulatory compliance, and developed strategic partnerships that strengthened community impact.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration from Eastern University. She also holds an Executive Nonprofit Leadership Certificate from Bryn Mawr College, further strengthening her expertise in nonprofit strategy, governance, and organizational growth. Additionally, she has completed advanced training in inclusive leadership and equitable program development, reinforcing her ability to design programs that expand access, opportunity, and meaningful outcomes for the communities she serves.

Gail is the recipient of the 2009 Mayor’s Making a Difference Award, has received multiple citations from the City of Philadelphia, and has been recognized by numerous organizations for her leadership and service. She currently serves on the board of Live & Love Life, supporting cancer survivors and their families.
